Ayden Hector

Student

For the typical college student today, numerous challenges and stressors can make excelling in the classroom a daunting task. These difficulties increase for those who also balance athletics, volunteer work, or other commitments. Ayden Hector is a remarkable example of someone who has successfully balanced academic and athletic pursuits while consistently finding meaningful ways to give back to his community.

From an early age, Ayden Hector demonstrated academic excellence and a strong work ethic. As a student at Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, Washington, he made the honor roll every year and graduated in 2020 from one of the area’s top schools. His time there included more than just academics, as he volunteered regularly, acquired technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft programs, and excelled in athletics, earning all-state honors as a standout high school football player.

After high school, Ayden Hector pursued higher education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where he continues to thrive. Drawn to the community and surrounding mountains, the university was a natural fit for him. While he enjoys the outdoor lifestyle, his primary focus has remained on academics. Currently majoring in business, Hector has remained a dedicated student and is on track to graduate early in December of 2023, continuing his record of academic success.

Alongside his classroom achievements, Ayden Hector has also distinguished himself on the football field. As a member of the Colorado State Rams, he plays as a defensive back and quickly became one of the team’s leaders. In the 2022 season, he recorded 24 tackles and three interceptions, despite playing in limited games, including a highlight performance in October where he returned an interception for a touchdown. With three years of eligibility left, he remains a vital contributor.

While Hector’s achievements in football and school are impressive, his dedication to community service is equally inspiring. Throughout high school, he founded and ran B.Box, delivering birthday boxes to homeless teens. He has continued this effort into college, now partnering with Colorado State’s on-campus food pantry to expand his outreach. This commitment to service has been an enduring part of his identity for many years.

His volunteer work extends beyond B.Box. Hector has supported initiatives such as Pick 6, an organization that teaches kids flag football while fostering leadership and confidence. He has contributed to Relay for Life, helping raise funds in the fight against cancer, and worked with Tent City, assisting those experiencing homelessness. His efforts earned him recognition as a nominee for the All-American Bowl’s “Man of the Year” award, celebrating his impact on others.

Outside of academics, athletics, and service, Ayden Hector values balance and personal interests. He enjoys skiing during the winter, water skiing in the summer, and staying active by playing basketball. Family and friends remain a cornerstone of his life, as does his love of the outdoors. As he continues to succeed in every area, Hector is building a legacy of academic achievement, athletic excellence, and community leadership that will benefit him long after graduation.
